TRIVIA NIGHT 2023

Published Wed 05 Jul 2023

Guests at the trivia night were treated to a cosy and warm atmosphere thanks to the cheery fire set by Greg. It proved to be a popular location when people first arrived and wanted to warm up.

Our trivia master Dougal kept the pressure on with various games such as the coin toss (Prize of a bottle of Amarula liqueur, won by Paul Rogers), and the paper plane competition. Lorraine Barbieri won with an excellent effort that eclipsed all other competitors. For that, her team won 5 bonus points.

A highlight of the evening was Helen singing the second verse of Advance Australia Fair. Most impressive to the rest of us, who displayed an appalling ignorance of our national anthem!

Sue Halliwell’s team valiantly defended their Trivia Crown, but to no avail. Helen’s and Michael’s team Will Smith Slappers blitzed the competition to come out winners. Well done to them all.

As usual, there are a number of people to thank who work behind the scenes to ensure the night is enjoyable for everyone. Helen and Michael worked during the afternoon to set up tables, while Steve and Geoff staffed the bar making sure everyone had some inner fortification. Thanks also to John Chalmers for doing the clean-up at the end of the night. These nights can’t happen without that support.
