Maintenance dredging to begin soon at Mordialloc Creek entrance

Published Wed 30 Mar 2022

We received the following communication from Parks Victoria late today, 30 March 2022.

Good afternoon everyone

This is just a heads up to let you know we will be undertaking maintenance dredging works at the entrance of Mordialloc Creek sometime in the next week.

We are currently awaiting a suitable weather window that will allow us to mobilise to site and complete the dredging. (Too windy at the moment based on forecast of the next few days).

The dredged sand will be deposited on Aspendale beach about 100m south of the Mordialloc sailing club ramp and where it can benefit the beach profile.

In anticipation of these works, there is already signage on site, and information on the Parks Victoria webpage for Mordialloc Pierhttps://www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/parks/mordialloc-pier .  A notice to mariners will also be published.

I will let you know once we can firm up the start date.

Regards

 Simon
