Gradually as the mist burnt off the unmistakable shape of a sailing ship could be seen. A quick call to "those that know" at the club suggested it was most probably the Enterprize which is based at Williamstown. |

With a Little Help -
| How do the words of the song go? - "I get by with a little help from my friends". And that certainly was the case on Thursday night for a number of boats as they struggled to get over the sand and back onto the mooring following the Twilight race. For the guys on Tidy Up it was a bit of an effort - but they made it. |

Silt & Sewerage
|
|
We all know the state of the Mordi Creek. Tuesday's low tide once again revealed just how much silt has been dumped around the Island - leaving club boats high and dry all over the place. Water quality in the creek is also at an all time low, with raw sewerage having been released into it. Channel 7 News exposed this in a story on the EPA on Tuesday evening. |
Crews to Marlay Point
| Continuing a very active time for the MMYC, a number of club yachts will soon be on the road heading to Lake Wellington Yacht Club to compete in the illustrious Marlay Point Overnight Yacht Race. |

Down in Tassie
| If you thought there were a few members missing from around the club on the weekend you were right. A sizeable number of our guys and their partners have headed south to the Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart. Apart from some shots, not a lot of detail has come through other than they're all having a good time. |

Even Worse
| As we all know, you have to really watch the tides these days or you can get stuck out of your mooring. Well things have got even worse since last weekend. It's estimated that a further 10cm of silt was dumped by the huge flows of water last weekend making it almost impossible to get on or off many moorings except for times of the highest water. News of work to improve the situation continues to get moved down the calendar. Considering all the recent rhetoric -pretty poor really isn't it. |

Running Repairs
| Not sure whether Friday's storm had done some damage or if it was just the fact that it wasn't much of a day for boating. In any case Michael took the opportunity to find a nice dry spot on Saturday to do some running repairs on his canvas cover. Taking a close look - his cross stitch wasn't too bad ! |
On The Bottom
| Rain and a fast flowing current take their toll on Friday night when 5 Stars goes to the bottom of Mordi Creek. |
