New Lady
If you'd bumped into Sharyn down at the club over the past week or so you'd have no doubt caught up with progress on the arrival of her and Eric's new Nolex 30. Over the long weekend the news had finally come through that the boat was on the dock and would be delivered any day.
Well as is the case with many of these things, the clearance and delivery didn't go as smoothly as hoped and Sharyn spent the whole of Friday cleaning the vessel from top to bottom to get rid of any "stow aways" that may have tried to hitch a ride over from New Zealand. Seems like she even tried to clean her mobile phone, when it took a dive into one of the cleaning buckets!
Anyway Saturday saw the the arrival of the Nolex "Delta Lady" down at the island and temporarily into Quicksilver's mooring in order for things to be put together. A number of members lead by Greg, who obviously knows the Nolex well, spent a couple of hours getting the mast and rigging sorted out, before moving on to work out which of the many sails on board would be suitable.
There's no doubt that Delta Lady will become a regular competitor in Club events although for a time it's believed she'll be making the trip up from Sandy where she'll be kept in the short term.
