The Jobs List

September 07, 2009

Gerney

With Opening Day not too far away, October 18th to be precise, a few members were busy on the Island across the weekend getting through their list of jobs.

Tom rolled his boat back into the water after the annual week of maintenance, showing off to the assembled throng with the occasional burst from his bow thruster on his way back to the mooring. Meanwhile John had come over from his South Wall spot to drop the mast on Siobhan and get ready to slip her at Mordi for the first time. Theres some general tidying up to do on the Baroness and some work on the keel pivot will finally get done as well.

Mount
Plain Man

Over near Samantha, Graeme was creating a cloud of wood shavings as he continued to prepare for the new engine's installation. As you can see he's made pretty good progress, with new supports and engine mounts now in place. Note the surrogate dowel Prop Shaft set up to get the height right.

Gary

Gary was also spotted a few times across the weekend wandering to and from Moonbird where there seems to be a never ending list of details to fine tune. The question "will she be ready for opening day?" is a common one but Gary's pretty confident that she'll be out on the water one way or the other. It may be worth checking out the rear seat cover on Moonbird next time you're passing. By all accounts it's a piece of "imported craftmanship"!
