Following a spell in the river while construction was completed, the
Polly Woodside is now back in her new permanent home. A trip to the new Melbourne Convention Centre this week took me right past the tall ship as she sat high and dry in the new Dry Dock. Workmen down below were cleaning up around the base of the dried out area as the last of the water was pumped from the chamber.
Polly’s hull will now be cleaned up following over 30 years of being moored in the same location.
It’s expected that she’ll be open again to the public later this year, so along with a new all glass area containing the old Pump House and totally restored surroundings it’ll be well worth navigating your way back to visit the Tall Ship again.

Polly here and check out the video clip of her move.
