Warm Company

June 15, 2009

The club's first Soup and Film night was held Sunday 14th June.

While the turnout was small, it was more than compensated for by the enthusiasm of the younger members of the audience, who cheered Wall-E as they followed his adventures across the universe, then finally met his true love!

Wide shot
Parents also seemed to enjoy the low key evening, as they were able to relax and chat in front of the open fire while keeping an eye on offspring.  This was not a fund raising night, so the meal was simple. Hearty soup and fresh bread were enjoyed by all, supplemented by the nibbles that people brought with them.

It was good to see a few child free couples and individuals there also, just to enjoy the companionship (and a few reds!).

Sit Back
Commodore Bob entered into the spirit of the night, sipping a red, and becoming quite engrossed in Wall-E's predicaments and triumphs.  Thanks to Michael for arranging the evening and to all those who helped prepare and clean up.
