Another great MMYC Winter Social Event - The Texas Hold 'em Poker Night was held on Saturday.

The evening conducted by Bob Voegt was an extremely enjoyable and successful night. It began with a hot meal of roast meat, potatoes and gravy, with crisp salad and bread rolls, just the thing for a cold winter's night around an open fire.

Following the meal, Bob took everyone through the rules, gave them a trial run, and then the "serious fun" began! Throughout the evening Bob continued to help those who needed a bit of assistance but judging by the laughter around the tables, people were more interested in fun than winning - although there were some pretty talented players present.

Its a shame that the chips couldn't have been redeemed for cash - there would have been some who could have paid off the national debt! In the end the winners from each table had a play off, with Peter Leander taking the prize and Andy Machin as runner up.

The next social outing for the club will be the Wine and Cheese Night on Friday the 26th.
