OUR NEW HOME

May 29, 2009

Welcome to the new MMYC Web site.  Its been a while in the making but we hope that you'll find it's been worth the wait. Apart from many of the well used features from the old site, you'll find extra sections in areas such as Weather, Events and Webcam along with a brand new area for Members only.

We've created easy access to a number of State of the Art Weather Stations already established around the bay and along the coast and we hope that in the near future we'll be able to add a new Station of our own. There's also references for tides and forecasts in this area as well.

At long last a Webcam for general use has been made available. This new page gives anyone who stops by the chance to see what the latest conditions in the creek are like and with the wave of the mouse they can check the how things were over the past eight hours.

Our new Calendar section makes it easy to check what's coming up both in competition and social events. Our club secretary is able to update the Calendar as often as he needs and details of each event or occasion will be available within the entry as well. Race results from club competition will also be available on another page in this area.

In the News Area, all stories posted on the top page will remain in an Archive. This means you'll be able to check back over stories and photos as often as you like. Shots will be easy to view on each of the pages and you'll be able to download a shot to keep if you like it.

Of course the main feature of our new MMYC site is the Members Area made up of three main sections. There's a Reports page, where our Commodore, Secretary and Mooring Officer have a chance to offer up the latest news from their desks. A couple of reports are already posted.

There's a Members Forum where you're all encouraged to make a comment about anything you feel needs to be "out there". And there's the Live Webcam Page incorporating the remote camera as well as a new CHAT feature for any member who's logged in. Feel free to send messages at any time - but keep it nice! To access the members area you'll need to get hold of your Username and Password, so if you're a member then drop us a line via mail.

So, there here it is. Our new Club away from the Club.

We hope you'll find it both useful and enjoyable.
