Break Away
May 17, 2009
| As a result of a couple more days of strong Westerly Weather, half of the concrete facure along the west side of the Island finally broke away on Saturday. Luckily there was no damage to any vessels but a couple of the owners along that strip of moorings had already moved their boats just in case. |
| It now remains for the council to start work in replacing the old concrete work in the Northwest corner of the Island. An Information Bulletin was issued by the Kingston Council last week to all skippers occupying moorings in the creek. It outlined a range of works to be carried out in the near future, including repairs to the wall and mooring poles as well as the long awaited dredging between the Hotel and Island. In the meantime it's a challenge getting aboard as can be seen in this shot as Andy sizes up his gangplank. |
