Sunday Fun
Sunday was the second day of the current hot spell and it appears as though many club members along with family and friends decided to make a day of it on the water.
Peter and Gerry had settled in to a good spot down under the Beauie cliffs earlier in the day having stayed on board Moondancer the night before after the Rock n Roll night. They were joined by David and Denise about lunchtime aboard Bosslady and a bit later on by Andy and Liz, with family and friends on Dreamweaver. It must have been a great day for them all down there as they were seen returning quite late in the afternoon.
Meanwhile back on the Island, Gary & Derik had spent a pretty productive afternoon working on the rigging aboard Moonbird. Having things pretty much sorted out, it was way too tempting not to give things a try. So they headed out for some Sea Trials, grabbing a couple of extra crew members who had just returned from Beauie!
I spotted them sailing out into the late afternoon sun from the beach where my daughter and a couple of friends were taking a dip, while I gave the hull on Nina a bit of a scrub. Clyde by the way was tackling a similar task on his Nolex just a few meters away. Anyway the skipper and crew aboard Moonbird used up the remaining light tacking up and down before calling it a day and heading back in.
When we arrived back at the mooring, there were still quite a number of members and friend enjoying the evening around the tables and we got to pose for the shot as we tied up. I’m sure like most of the others who were out there, we’ve thought about our Pleasant Sunday a few times this week as we’ve battled with the heat. See you out there this weekend!?
