Preparations
The annual sailing competition between Carrum and Mordialloc, "The Longbeach Challenge" will be held this weekend and a number of crews have been busy this week preparing their boats for the event.
Mike was seen Tuesday surrounded by bits and pieces as he worked on Solitaire.
Over on the Island, Derek had was trying out a Spinnaker for size. This kite was once a part of the set of sails aboard Moonbird but with the re-fit Gary's decided he has no need for it now and Derek's picked it up. The blue and white colouring matches Blue Dolphin perfectly. Not sure if everything will be all in place for the weekend events but Derek and Peter were giving it a good try.
A meeting outlining the days proceedings for skippers of participating vessels and other interested parties will be held Sunday @ 9:30 in the club rooms. Departure from the club is scheduled for 10:30
