Sunny Sunday

October 12, 2009

The great spring weather on Sunday meant that many members were out on the water. A quick run not far from the pier and it was easy to find a lot of club boats out enjoying the conditions.

Defectors

David had paddled down to the Island to say hello while not far away Greg had Skeo under way giving Sharyn a few sailing tips in the calm conditions. Gary had dropped a line about half a mile off shore aboard Nikita while Michael and Moira aboard Bonito's Treasure and Graig aboard Yellow Bird entertained some newcomers to sailing by cruising up and down a few 100 meters offshore.

Others spotted were Sonata, Pelican, Siobhan and the David aboard the Gilcraft. Three people aboard a Tinnie suddenly appeared out of nowhere and it turned out to be Liz, Carolyn and Partner out for a spin. Looks like they've defected and given up the sails for the smell of 2 stroke !?

In any case until the weather started to go off about mid afternoon everyone really made the most of the great weather. Some however had to face the reality of "low Tide and very high Mud" and needed a bit of a hand to get back onto the mooring.
