Not too Ruff
It was the first Twilight Race of the season Thursday and nine skippers and crew showed up around 6PM for the start. The promotion e-mails from Michael during the week had mentioned favorable conditions for the event but as boats made their way out through the creek mouth, it became obvious pretty quickly that it was going to be a wild ride. And that it was.
A number of seasoned skipper and boats were in for nothing but a good time but for a few others who were perhaps shaking their gear down for the first time in a while, the going proved a little too tough and there were a number who retired. For others like Ruffcut however the course was completed in no time and then it was time to dry off and ejnoy the BBQ.
There'll be a Twilight event every Thursday across summer which will alternate beween the normal competition and the new Michael Oakley event.
